As the Wexford Festival Opera (WFO) prepares to celebrate its historic 75th Anniversary in 2026, the Beckwith Trust is proud to reaffirm its dedicated support for this milestone season and its visionary leadership.

The 2026 Festival, themed “The Best of: one for the head, one for the heart, one for fun,” represents a culmination of seven decades of artistic courage and rediscovery. Central to this mission is the work of WFO Artistic Director Rosetta Cucchi, whose leadership continues to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation. The Beckwith Trust is honored to provide continued philanthropic support for the Festival and the Director’s office, ensuring that the legacy of Wexford remains a beacon for the international opera community.

Supporting the Future of Opera

The Trust’s involvement with Wexford is a cornerstone of its broader mission: advancing musical education and fostering the talents of young artists across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, and Malta.

By partnering with world-class institutions like Wexford Festival Opera, the Trust fulfills its core objective—providing the vital “bridge” for artists as they transition from the world’s leading academies to the stages of major international opera houses. This 75th Anniversary season, featuring rare masterpieces such as Mascagni’s Iris and Prokofiev’s The Gambler, provides an unparalleled platform for these emerging talents to perform alongside world-renowned stars.

A Shared Vision for Excellence

The Beckwith Trust’s support extends beyond the main stage. With strong links to prestigious organizations such as the Royal College of Music in London, the Rossini Opera Festival in Italy, and the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation in Malta, the Trust views the Wexford 75th Anniversary as a vital intersection of its international efforts.

“The 75th Anniversary is an incredible milestone,” notes Rosetta Cucchi. It is a sentiment shared by the Trust, as we celebrate a partnership dedicated to the “rediscovery” of forgotten gems and the nurturing of the next generation of operatic greats.

We invite our community to join us in Wexford from October 15–31, 2026, for what promises to be a spectacular celebration of art, empathy, and musical history.
